Suminagashi - paper marbling with black sumi ink - originated in Japan in the 12th century. In this class open to beginners, we will explore the expansive and unpredictable abstraction of floating ink in water!
Noëlle Cunningham specializes in the book arts with a focus in printmaking and papermaking. Inspired by prehistory, mythology and natural phenomena, Noëlle’s work aims to evoke the feeling of uncovering a hidden treasure. She is a graduate of Minneapolis College of Art & Design and has been living and working in Richmond VA since 2023.
