Summer Solstice Cyanotype
Summer Solstice Cyanotype Workshop
Saturday, June 21
10AM-1PM
Instructor: Kristen Koh
at Shop Two Three- 1437 Hull Street
Come join us as we celebrate the Summer Solstice through our Cyanotype workshop! The camera-less, non-toxic, photographic process of cyanotype is easily accessible to beginners! We’ll begin by learning different cyanotype methods, compatible materials, and then move onto printing and experimenting with different ways to produce unique prints. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring in materials for printing, such as ferns, flowers, or film negatives, keep in mind that only the silhouette of the object will be printed. Other bits and bobs are fine to print with as long as they are flat enough to lay a glass pane over. We will be printing on paper but the option is open for you to bring your own fabric to experiment with, something like cotton or hemp would be the best to use.
A student at VCU, Kristen is an outdoors loving artist who finds herself in the digital field of graphic design. In her free time she explores different areas of art and wants to try everything she can, currently she is enjoying printing with the letterpress at Studio Two Three!
